System Manager for a mobile phone simulator with overall responsibility for uses cases, architectural design documentation, managing requirements. Required a lot of independent investigative work to get the right information from the right people, and learn about new areas of technology and how to best adapt the simulator to future mobile phone platforms.
Worked in a scrum team to maintain a custom made development environment (IDE) based on the Eclipse platform and Java. Mainly bug fixing, and adding some new features to existing Eclipse plugins. Work involved Java, Eclipse plugins, Ant build scripts, writing unit tests with EasyMock/PowerMock, and organising jobs and capturing KPIs on an Electric Commander build server.
Responsible for maintaining a low level server/client solution written in C++ for logging from and interacting with mobile phones over a serial port (RS232) and TCP/IP sockets, and a GUI config client written using QT.
Maintenance of a realtime logging Eclipse RCP application written in Java for presenting log data from mobile phones. Work involved creating a high performing and intuitive user interface with custom RCP controls that could handle large quantities of data.
Scanning source code using Protecode System4, analyzing open source licenses, creating Bill of Materials for customer deliveries.

Maintained and developed a mobile phone platform simulator written in C and C++. High level GUI programming in C++ and wxWidgets framework, low level simulation of drivers and hardware. The work required working independently to building understanding of a very big product covering a wide range of technologies from radio access technologies, to low level drivers for SIM cards and various other hardware blocks, and understandning where to best simulate different types of functionality.
Developed a C++ application that talked to phone SIM cards through a smart card reader and dumped the SIM card file structure to disk.

I was part of the PIM (personal information management) applications team in designing, developing & maintaining the UIQ application code base and their suite of mobile applications, as well as playing a central role in the continuous release work of these components among other things.
Six-month assignment to Bangalore, India
During the time at UIQ Technology, I spent six month on assignment in Bangalore in India providing training, support and expertise to Indian consultants working for the company, and oversaw several development projects conducted by the team. I also held a 2-day course in UIQ programming for an Indian consultancy company in Bangalore.
